The Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva suffered a serious broken leg injury in February which has kept him out of action since. The injury came in a 2-2 draw in February against Birmingham City. It happened when the Birmingham defender challenged Eduardo awkwardly which caused him to intake a double compact fracture on his left tibia and fibula. After just over a month the striker has been given the green light by medical staff to start his rehabilitation.

Yesterday the Arsenal website announced that Eduardo would be seeing a specialist and that the full leg cast would be coming off and switching to an air boot if all was satisfactory. Once back from the specialist it was noted that the leg cast was removed and that Eduardo could now begin his road to recovery. I’m sure he won’t be playing in any matches real soon as he will need to build the power in his leg back but it’s all good news for Arsenal hearing that he can at least train now. They say the hardest part will be for Eduardo to keep the leg disinfected but Arsene Wenger has assured us all that it’s going well and there is nothing to worry about, and Eduardo will be back in the line-up as soon as possible.

Eduardo da Silva was having a very impressive campaign leading up to his injury and had already netted 12 goals in the season. It’s apparent by looking at the stats that Eduardo is surely missed by his team and the goal production has been down without him in the line-up. He was second in scoring on the squad leading up to the injury and now he currently still sits third on the team in scoring even while have missed over a month of play.
