Manchester United vs. Roma
Manchester United & Roma recently butted heads in a qualifying match in which Manchester came out on top, and helped them secure a bid in the semi finals of the Champions League later on this month. The final score was 2-0 with the usual suspects being the heroes for Manchester United. Wayne Rooney & Christiano Ronaldo both scored goals which was enough to secure the win.
Manchester was pressuring Roma right from the beginning of the game with a strong attack but they weren’t the first to have a chance at the goal. Roma managed to register the first chance on net with a header off a corner. After that it seemed as though we may be in for a draw and then Nemanja Vidic the Man U Siberian defender went down with an injury and needed to be replaced. Roma was starting to gain the momentum and things were shifting sides for some of the game but then Ronaldo took the opportunity when he was given it and scored right before the half.
The second half started out with Roma battling for the draw where they managed a few scoring chances but couldn’t get anything through the pipes. Eventually Roma’s fate was decided when Rooney made good on his chance to make it 2-0. After that point it was all over for Roma and you could tell while watching that they weren’t going to be able to make that deficit up.
Overall it was a pretty good game and Roma kept it real tight throughout the first half and even some of the second but Manchester prevailed to tough for them to defeat. The win looks like it may put Manchester into the semi-finals of the Champions League later on this month but it’s still undetermined.
