Ferguson Not Done Yet
Sir Alex Ferguson, esteemed manager of Manchester United has said that he is not done coaching just yet. Many people thought that he might call it quits if his club wins the Champions League this year, so that he could go out on top. Ferguson isn’t thinking that way at all though. In response to the retirement question, Ferguson joked about how his wife would drive him crazy. The 66-year-old seems more energetic and lively than ever; stating after the joke that staying with Man U is easier than resting for him since the club is so great. He is happy to be in the position he is in and it is clear that he wants to stay. No one really objects his stay (other than maybe rival teams), so we could still see Ferguson for quite some time.
Ferguson has certainly had a very successful career at Old Trafford and this year proves that he still has it. He will try to lead Manchester United to victory over Chelsea, in hopes of winning his second Champions League and adding another trophy to his current collection of 27. While the revered manager dreams of a second Champions League title, he does realize that his team still needs one more win. He is fully confident that Man U will be able to win the game though, especially due to the momentum they have built up. A win in Moscow will only add to that momentum and will keep Ferguson going even longer. He has really done some amazing things for his team and the fans and ownership have are for the most part sincerely grateful.
No matter what happens in Russia and no matter how Ferguson’s career ends, it is clear that he will be forever remembered as one of the greatest soccer coaches of all time. His dedication and love of the sport is incredible and perhaps unmatched by any manager to ever coach the game.
