Yesterday decided how the final match for the quarter-finals would go and now the four matches are set-up and ready to play. There may have been a couple upsets throughout the tournament so far, but nothing too major in my opinion. Russia was a nice surprise in the round robin matches and I also thing that the Dutch squad is another surprise to most people this year.

Match One – June 19th – Portugal vs. Germany

This match I believe could go either way today and I can’t wait to watch it. Most people are most likely putting their money on the Germans today, but I just can never count out Portugal and what their capable of. If I told you I was routing for Germany I’d be lying and hopefully Portugal comes to play today.

Match Two – June 20th – Croatia vs. Turkey

Croatia should win this game and historically I believe they have the upper hand against the Turkish squad. I know they haven’t played much either against each other, but Croatia is the better team I think and would be putting my money on them.

Match Three – June 21st – Netherlands vs. Russia

Well the Netherlands proved they want to win this year and with that being said the Russians don’t stand a chance in this game. They played well but the competition was nothing compared to what the Netherlands faced, and the Netherlands did a lot better even with the stronger competition. Easily the most secure prediction of the quarter-finals will be this match and my choice is Netherlands.

Match Four – June 22nd – Spain vs. Italy

The Italians were a favorite in this tournament in the beginning before it started but now I’m a little sceptical about them. Spain has always been a good team in international play and risen to the occasion countless times. I think this one is going to be real close, but I’m sticking with Spain. The Italians did well against the French so they’ll need a game like that again and I don’t see it happening.
