Well it’s been a little while since we’ve had a three day break from soccer action, but that is exactly what we’ve had over the past couple days. The last quarter-final match was played on the 22nd and the first semi-final match isn’t until tomorrow which is the 25th. I’m sure with all the excitement many of you could use a break and gearing up for the semi-finals always takes a couple days, the four teams left also deserve a little break in the action. I’d like to point out that my predictions in the quarter-finals didn’t go quite as planned.
The four teams who will be in the semi-finals starting tomorrow will be Germany, Turkey, Spain and Russia. Only The Germans and Turkey will be playing tomorrow with the other game coming on the 26th which is the day after tomorrow. There has to be some people disappointed with the way the semi-finals are turning out to be and I definitely wouldn’t have been able to pick these four teams.
Germany and Spain I most likely would of chosen to be in the top four along with Portugal and Italy, but I couldn’t of predicted that Turkey and Russia would have made it this far. Soccer is all about upsets and if you play a good few games then it could win you one of the biggest tournaments in all of soccer and these two teams are proving just that fact.
Germany will be playing Turkey tomorrow and I must say that everyone will probably be laying their money on the Germans and I know I will be simply because it would take a huge upset for Turkey to win the game. Germany were favourites in the tournament by many predictors and they look like they’ll have a shot at winning the tournament in the finals.
