The Euros this year welcomed the Unite against Racism Initiative which will be in full swing for the semi-finals and parts of it available on TV to an international crowd. The Euros has been continuing efforts to stop racism in the sport of soccer and they will be making sure they continue to get their point across at the semi-finals.

Before the semi-final matches commence there will be a little miniature ceremony for everyone in the stadium and part of it will be broadcasted. On the seat of every spectators seat there will be a multicoloured bib that everyone is suppose to put on for the mini ceremony.

There are two times when the bibs will be worn, once during warm-ups and once before the game during the ceremony. Everyone in the seats will asked to take part in a Mexican wave around the stadium with the bibs on. The Euros staff who has been hosting the tournament will be helping everyone in the seats choreograph the wave.

The second wave will be broadcasted on TV for everyone to see around the world as noone really has seen the presence the campaign has had on the Euros yet except for everyone who’s been at the Euros.

Both teams captains will be asked to briefly speak before the game in each of the semi-final matches as well after the anthems are played. The campaign was started on the 7th of June which was the beginning of the Euros.

I was unaware there was much racism in soccer but I would assume I’m wrong as the campaign has had a good showing and it must be a serious problem.
