Damian Escudero who played with CA Velez Sarsfield last campaign will be joining Villarreal CF this year. The Argentinean midfielder is expected to be an added bonus to the Villarreal squad this upcoming season. The deal isn’t finalized quite yet though as there still needs to be a medical done on Escudero before the deal can be made official. Leandro Somoza will be the player leaving Villarreal and heading over to Sarsfield in the transaction pending it goes through.
I got a feeling that the medical shouldn’t bring up anything unexpected and the deal should be finalized shortly. Escudero who started his career at the young age of eighteen is now twenty-one years old and locked up by Villarreal for the next five years of his career. I think that he’ll be entering his prime soon and it appears that the management on Villarreal would feel the same as they have signed him for a lengthy term. No money details have been given out yet, but I’m sure that information will be spilled once the deal is finalized pending the medical examination.
Villarreal who finished their campaign in second last year have been busy this off-season acquiring some new players. Escudero is the fifth player entering the team this off-season so there are quite a few new faces to get use to in the locker room. Second place was tough for them last year so I’m sure there looking to add as much power as they can to their roster before they begin play this September.
