Alexander Hleb signs with Barca

27-year-old midfielder Alexander Hleb has signed a contract with Barcelona that officially completes his move away from Arsenal. The pending deal is for four years and is the fifth signing that Barca has made this offseason. Hleb is very excited about playing for the team, calling it his dream come true.
Barcelona is also pleased about the signing as it continues its overhaul in hopes of getting back to victory this year. Two years without a trophy has created a sense of urgency for the team, which is driving their active approach this summer. The players and the organization believe that the changes they are making will pave way for a successful year.
Hleb told reporters today that he wants to win as many trophies he can and he thinks that Barca will give him that opportunity. He also commented on Thierry Henry, who he will rejoin with his new team (they both played together at Arsenal earlier.) The midfielder is looking forward to reuniting with his old friend and learning from him about his new home city.
Barca and Hleb exchanged praise at the announcement tonight as the fans and media were all excited. Even Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger made a kind comment following the deal as he expressed his gratitude for Hleb’s contribution to the Gunners during his tenure with them.
