There are five different leagues starting this week in Europe and I though I’d take today to let everyone know about them. The seasons are beginning in five different countries so there is a chance that there is some action that you’ll enjoy. The countries that are starting this week are Denmark, Slovakia, Switzerland, Slovenia and Ukraine. Most of the leagues if you’ve ever followed them aren’t also very competitive, but this is changing this season. We’ll everyone believes that most of the leagues will see some change, as there are now more teams with competitive teams.

The Denmark league has generally been very uncompetitive in the past, but this year is set to be one of the most competitive Superligaen for years. In Switzerland the winner of last year is expected to win again this year. There might be a new champion in Slovenia this year, and that would be shocking because only four teams have ever won the league in the eighteen years that it’s been played. Slovakia has a good bunch of teams this year to compete with each other, and there are a good four teams who could actually win the championship this year in Slovakia. Ukraine should be another battle between the top teams, so if you don’t route for them don’t expect nothing you haven’t seen before.

These leagues always end up having teams dominate the leagues for years and there isn’t much that can be done to even the teams out. If all the teams had the same budget to spend on players then it would make it a lot more competitive. It seems at least in some of these five leagues it will a lot more competitive then the fans are use too, but a couple will still have the same couple teams winning everything. This is because in some of the leagues the budgets are so lopsided that the teams calibre of players just don’t even compare. Looks like if you have the money to spend in these small inner country leagues then you have a good chance at winning each year.
