Ronaldinho told reporters today that the last few months with Barcelona were the worst of his life. Now with AC Milan, the playmaker expressed how upset he was with the situation in Barca. He said that he was unlucky, missed out on a lot of playing time, and was even driven to depression as things worsened between him and the team as well as for his career.

What especially hit hard was the fact of how fast fans and spectators seemed to “turn” on him as his playing condition worsened due to injuries and also over the controversy of how he spent his free time. The player was demeaned for not working out at a high level during his vacation time, but today he defended himself saying that he never slips up during the regular season, but likes to live his life during his time off.

Despite the bad memories, Ronaldinho hopes that a new team and a new town will mean a new start for him. After losing playing time and being criticized for “being out of shape”, he hopes to turn things around with his new team. Currently, Ronaldinho is in Beijing playing for Brazil in the Olympics. He has promised to keep his tenure with Barca behind him as he tries to help Brazil win the gold and perhaps after that he may be able to lead AC on a serious run to a championship.
