If you’ve been following ACF Fiorentina then you know that there has been quite a bit of speculation and rumours mentioned that Adrian Mutu may be departing the club this off-season. For fans of the team you’ll be glad to know that Mutu isn’t going anywhere and that Fiorentina just signed him to a deal lasting until 2012.
Most of you will know Adrian Mutu with being one of the Romanian superstars this past Euro2008, and he had a splendid tournament if you ask my opinion. Last season with Fiorentina, Adrian was able to net himself 17 goals in a total of 29 Serie A Games. Mutu was rumoured too go to AS Roma, but the team ended all of these rumours and lengthened Mutu’s contract by one year.
Adrian Mutu has played a total of 64 games for his international Romanian squad and has managed to score 29 goals. He also got 6 goals in 10 games at the UEFA Cup last year and he has been on a complete tear. I’m glad to see that Adrian Mutu will remain with Fiorentina and I expect big things from them this year. Mutu will need to prove himself worthy of not being traded this off-season, and I expect a quick start and nothing else from the young Romanian player.
Adrian Mutu has been around in his young career quite a bit already and he has played for Internazionale Milano, Hellas-Verona FC and Parma FC. As you can see he has been around in his career and I’m sure he’s glad that he has found a team where he can stay for the long-term and focus on his game rather then trade rumours.
