Christiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he will stay with Manchester United for the coming year despite being interested in playing for Real Madrid. He has never publically said that he wants to move, but he has hinted at it several times. Add this with the fact that Real Madrid (among others) is very interested in him and it becomes clear why his relationship with Man U may not last forever.

Despite the rumors and the offers, the team consistently told bidders that Ronaldo was not for sale. The star player seems to have given in for the time being, but he did state that he is still interested in playing for Real. Ronaldo spoke of a meeting he had with Sir Alex Ferguson, in which they both discussed his future. According to the 23-year-old, both parties decided that it would be best for him to stay. Manchester fans certainly won’t argue.

Ronaldo went on to praise Ferguson for being a great manager and for listening to him. He also apologized for the drama caused by his desire to move to Real Madrid. His initial statement of wanting to play for Real caused quite some uproar between the two clubs as Real continued to try and pursue the player even after United made it clear that they weren’t selling. The matter would end with a complaint by Man U to FIFA for being bugged by Real on the issue. Things seem to finally be calming down and hopefully once the games begin we can all forget about this.
