Cristiano Ronaldo thumbs upThis past weekend, Portuguese national and Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 100th and 101st goals for his team. The goals came against lowly Stoke City in front of more than 75,000 spectators. Ronaldo scored from 2 brilliant free kicks one in the 3rd minute of the game and another in the 89th minute. The winger has now reached 9 goals in the Premiership for this season and he is likely to hit double digits before the holidays. He has scored a total of 101 goals in 253 games. No wonder Real Madrid tried hard last summer to (unsuccessfully) recruit the young player.

On another note, the 17-year old Danny Welbeck who made his first appearance in the league and scored his first goal at the same time. The future for Manchester United was revealed to us just like that and as Sir Alex Ferguson is celebrating 50 years of a football career.
