Diego Maradona Boca JuniorsIt has been 20 years since the incident but details recently emerged that while playing for Napoli and badly wanting to leave the Italian soccer league, Maradona had signed a contract with the French club Olympique de Marseille for a deal that was worth less than 10 million Euro. But alas, Maradona never moved to France since the deal fell through at the last minute when information about the deal were leaked to the media forcing Napoli officials to back out even though much of the paperwork had already been signed.

Diego Maradona revealed this new information on his arrival to Marseille for the friendly game between France and Argentina. The well known soccer player will be making his second appearance coaching Argentina’s national team. He was appointed coach on October 29th, 2008. Maradona debuted as Argentina’s coach on November 19th in Glasgow in a game against Scotland which his team won with the modest 1-0 score. This second game is going to be the real test for the man who is mostly famous for his 1986 ‘hand of God’ goal against England in the World Cup quarter finals.
