Ashley Cole arrested in London

Here we go again. Another English footballer has been arrested after consuming large quantities of alcohol and acting like a dick. The latest here is Chelsea’s Ashley Cole who was arrested in London yesterday for drunken behavior and disorderly contact. The lad had a few too many drinks at some charity event and got a bit upset with the paparazzi trying to take his photo; when the police arrived, he acted poorly towards them and they didn’t hesitate to take his ass to the local prison for a night.
Well done Ashley. You can now join with Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard and maybe share a room at the local prison some day. Cole is not in serious trouble for swearing at the police compared to Gerrard who is in serious trouble for a brawl he participated in at a local club. But the signs for Mr. Cole are there and it won’t be long before he hits the bottom of the hill.
What the heck is wrong with these people and more specifically what the heck is wrong with soccer players in England. Many kids look up to this players and make them into their heroes. Why are these athletes do so much drinking? It can’t possibly be good for their athletic performance? Can’t they just take it easy on alcohol for 10 years while they play soccer? They can drink as much as they want after retirement at age 34 with their millions of dollars in the bank.
There are no true soccer greats anymore. We might as well stop watching these immature boys playing soccer and start watching tapes of old games when people played for their team and not for money and fame.
