Manchester United published the biggest news of the summer this morning when they announced on their official website that the team has accepted Real Madrid’s $100 million dollar offer for Cristiano Ronaldo and has released the player to negotiate the terms of his new contract with the Spanish club. The much rumored transfer for the last couple of years is now a reality. We are going to see Ronaldo play for Madrid in just a couple of months. Wow!
Real Madrid fans must be totally ecstatic after the events of this past week. After Kaka’s massive transfer from AC Milan, Ronaldo’s record breaking transfer is literally the icing on the cake. Florentino Perez was serious when he said that he wanted to rebuild the Galacticos and he has not hesitated to dig deep to make it so. If he also manages to acquire Ribery then Madrid may easily become the team to beat next season.
BTW and in case you are wondering, Ronaldo had expressed his desire to leave Man U and considering the massive offer from Madrid it was only normal that his current (or shall I say former) club would let him go. I don’t think that the United fans are going to be very happy about this especially if their team doesn’t use some (if not most) of their new found wealth to strengthen the team for the upcoming season.
I think ronaldo has paid his dues for Man Utd and it is only right we let him go so he doesn’t end up like Henry who was sold at a lose. All the BEST C.RON We love you
