English Premier Leguge action is back. This past weekend, the widely accepted most exciting European soccer league kicked off with Arsenal dominating a very bad Everton. The gunners earned an easy 3 points to start the season with the rather emphatic 6-1 score. By the time the first half was done, they were already dominating and outscoring their opponent 3-0 and it was not until they had scored another 3 in the second half when Everton finally managed to score one for themselves. Arsenal is expected by many to be a major contender for the league title this year and if their first game is any indication, they are on their way.

Chelsea on the other hand barely managed to squeak by a well setup Hull. It was striker Didier Drogba who scored 2 goals to give the London team a positive start for the season. The tigers were first to score on the 28th minute of the game but Drogba equalized from a free kick less than ten minutes later. It was also him who scored a magnificent goal in injury time (92nd minute) to gift his team their first 3 points of the season. Watch Drogba’s second goal in the video below.

In other action, last year’s champions Manchester United had a hard time against Birmingham City but they did manage to start the season with a win. Wayne Rooney scored the winning goal for the champions in the 34th minute. This could be a long season for Man U after the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid. Let’s see if they can remain competitive and challenge for the title.

Liverpool’s season started with a loss to Tottenham while Manchester City joined the other top clubs in securing their first win for the season against Blackburn Rovers 2-0.
