Jurgen KlinsmannGerman legend Jurgen Klinsmann faces an uncertain future in football management, even though he is still quite young in the profession. He lead his national team to the semi-finals of the last World Cup and made them play some very decent football, but despite popular demand, did not extend his contract. Instead he took over Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, but was sacked after 10 months after a very disappointing spell. Now, Klinsmann is saying he doesn’t want to manage in his homeland ever again:

“For us it is relatively clear. We will not embark on another adventure in the Bundesliga, After the World Cup, I will possibly be somewhere else.”

While he doesn’t reveal too much about his future plans, it is plain to see that he seems rather disillusioned with management after the Bayern failure, which is quite the shame. As a player, he always looked like he could make a good manager, and his handling of the national squad certainly went a long way in proving that statement.

Rumors are he might be in line for the Liverpool job if/when Benitez gets sacked, but it seems like every other big-name manager is being linked to that job, and Klinsmann would face a great deal of competition. Even if he doesn’t get the position, though, hopefully he will find another decent European club to lead and stay in the spotlight. It will be a sad thing if he accepts a job in Qatar or Saudi Arabia and leaves his ambitions behind.
