It seems like all is not well in the Barcelona dream-team, and even such a successful coach as Guardiola is faced with problems surrounding his (former) best players.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the former Barcelona striker who moved to AC Milan for 24 million Euros, has hit out at his former boss, Pep Guardiola. The Swedish star has said: “He is the philosopher who has broken my dream of being at Barcelona. The coach did not want me and I will not waste any more time.” He also revealed that Guardiola would not speak with him, and would leave the room as soon as Zlatan stepped in it. Things had broken down completely between the two, and the transfer was only a matter of time.

Now this is just one side of the story, and I’m sure the truth is maybe not as extreme as that, but it is a big mystery why one of Barca’s most expensive and talked-about signings in recent years fell out so badly with the coach. Maybe one day we’ll find out more, but for now the two parties will have to go their separate ways. Ibrahimovic becomes one of the only players to switch between AC Milan, Inter Milan and Barcelona, but he is certainly far from done in terms of scoring big and important goals. The Spanish giants may miss him in some areas, but they have a more than adequate replacement coming in with David Villa.
